Revenue rose to $2.3 billion, up 5% from $2.23 billion.

Company President John Lillie said earnings for the fiscal first half increased 16% to $49.2 million from last year’s $42.3 million. Revenue totaled $4.61 billion, up from $4.43 billion reported a year earlier.

Lillie said the earnings increase came mainly from Gemco and the company’s specialty stores.
