Another 67 Gives Pfeil Queen Mary Lead by 2
Touring pro Mark Pfeil of Palos Verdes Estates shot his second consecutive 67 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead after 54 holes of the $60,000 Queen Mary Open golf tournament at Lakewood Country Club.
Pfeil, who was tied for first place with John McComish of Santa Maria going into Saturday’s play, had seven birdies and two bogeys in his five-under-par round that gave him a total of 204.
McComish, with a 69, and Brad Sherfy of Los Angeles, who had a 68, are tied for second at 206.
The field was cut to the low 70 and ties for today’s final round. First prize is $9,000.
