Share

Two Garden Grove men who allegedly used an electronic paging system to sell drugs were arrested late Wednesday on suspicion of selling heroin and cocaine, police said.

The suspects, Greg Stephen Garrett, 32, and Carmelo Marquez, 38, were taken into custody about 10:30 p.m. when police converged on their apartment at the Hollandease Motel at 13571 Harbor Blvd., according to Police Sgt. Patrick Thrasher.

Two ounces of heroin and about a half-ounce of cocaine worth about $52,000 were confiscated when the two men were arrested, Thrasher said.

Customers contacted the pair by activating pagers, investigators allege. One of the suspects would then set up a meeting and the deal would be consummated, Thrasher said.

The two were booked into the Orange County Jail, each on one count of possession for sale of heroin and possession for sale of cocaine.
