Share

The Federation of Chinese Organizations of America and the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Assn. has sued MGM for $100 million for allegedly libeling their members as Chinese mafia. The Los Angeles Superior Court class action civil suit claims that Chinese writing on buildings and other information in the film “Year of the Dragon” wrongly implied that members of the groups trafficked in drugs and otherwise engaged in organized crime. The suit claims the organizations serve as an umbrella group for various Chinese families and clubs in Los Angeles and throughout the United States and Canada.
