Berkeley police uncovered an alleged brothel that apparently specialized in bondage and kept extensive records on about 1,500 customers during its decade of operation. A police spokesman said three people were jailed on a variety of charges, ranging from prostitution to resisting arrest and reckless driving. Officers were led to the residence by a fleeing motorist wanted on three outstanding warrants. The spokesman that said when an officer spotted a speeding car and stopped it, the driver fled in the auto. After a chase at speeds approaching 100 m.p.h., police spotted his car in front of a house. Because of the outstanding warrants, officers followed the driver inside and discovered the alleged brothel. Police reported finding six torture chambers and the accessories that go with them.
