Construction Under Way on Eade Ranch Hunting Club

Construction has started on one of the nation’s most unusual family hunting clubs on the historic 26,000-acre Eade Ranch in the mountains of San Benito County, northeast of Paso Robles.

The private facility, to be called Laguna Mountain Hunt Club, will provide year-round hunting, fishing and a variety of outdoor activities. A lodge, guest cabins, entry house and ranch headquarters are included in the plan.

Master-planned by Pereira Associates, the club covers some 41 square miles and is believed to be the largest private outdoors club in the West.

Harold R. Eade, president and chairman of the board of Laguna Ranch Co., club developer, said, “The primary design consideration is to preserve the unspoiled natural setting of the ranch, while providing people with the means to enjoy it as a recreational retreat.”

First phase of club construction, including Horsethief Station reception center, a game processing building and renovation of the half-century-old adobe ranch house, is complete and scheduled for operation this month. The lodge, swimming pool and Laguna Valley Lake enlargement is targeted for completion next spring.
