John Chesley, tight end for the Miami Dolphins, was found guilty of assaulting a woman in Prince George’s County, Md., during an argument over a minor traffic accident last May.
Circuit Court Judge Bond Holford found Chesley guilty of assault and battery and fined him $50.
The conviction stems from an incident on May 26 in which Chesley’s car collided with that of Clara Nell Long.
According to court records, Chesley got out of his car, went back to Long’s car and started arguing with her. He then threw a cup of some kind of liquid on her, shouted obscenities, and hit her across the face.
