Fire victims with uninsured losses resulting from the grass, canyon and forest fires that engulfed much of California from June 26 to July 19 have until Monday to file applications for federal and state assistance.

The 60-day application period began July 18 when President Reagan declared California eligible for disaster relief. As a result, federal funds are available for victims in San Diego County, the City of Los Angeles and the counties of Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Ventura.

The programs include Small Business Administration disaster loans for residences, businesses and personal property; the Individual and Family Grant Program; Internal Revenue Service and state Franchise Tax Board assistance; Farmers Home Administration emergency loans, and Red Cross emergency assistance and temporary housing.
