A 35-year-old San Diego woman died Friday when her car struck a telephone pole and overturned, police reported.
Darlene Marie Sims, 35, was in the 7200 block of Skyline Drive in Southeast San Diego shortly after 6 a.m. when she lost control of her car, it jumped the curb and hit the pole. The victim, the only occupant of the car, was ejected from the vehicle, police said. A Life Flight helicopter took Sims to Paradise Valley Hospital, where she died in the emergency room.
