The New York Yankees acquired knuckleball pitcher Joe Niekro from the Houston Astros in a deal that reunited him with his brother Phil.
Joe Niekro, 40, was acquired for pitcher Jim Deshaies and a player to be named.
The two Niekros have not pitched together since they both played for Atlanta in 1973 and 1974.
