The Veterans Administration will locate a new cemetery in western Merced County to serve Northern California veterans, authorities announced in Washington. The VA agreed to a site at Santa Nella near San Luis Dam after previously trying to find a location closer to the San Francisco Bay Area. A new national veterans’ cemetery is needed because the one at San Bruno is near capacity.
