A federal jury today convicted Philadelphia caterer Curtis Strong on 11 felony counts for selling cocaine to major league baseball players, ending a 14-day trial filled with sordid disclosures about the national pastime.
The jury acquitted Strong on three other counts. The jury of nine women and three men deliberated nearly 10 hours before returning its verdict in the courtroom of Judge Gustave Diamond. Strong, 39, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine on each guilty verdict returned against him.
