The University of Houston announced it has canceled its scheduled basketball game with LSU next season because of the recent recruiting controversy over center Tito Horford.
Horford played high school basketball in Houston and was expected to sign a scholarship agreement with the Cougars. But the NCAA, after an investigation into the recruitment, ruled the center could not play at the school. He then signed to play at LSU.
The Houston-LSU game had been scheduled for Feb. 8, 1986, at Baton Rouge, La. To make up for the lost game, the Cougars scheduled Louisville for a home contest on Feb. 22.
