NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Officials at Yale University canceled the Yale-University of Connecticut football game that was rescheduled for today at the Yale Bowl.
The action was taken at the request of New Haven Mayor Biagio DiLieto. The nonconference game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday but was postponed in the aftermath of Hurricane Gloria.
A Yale spokesman said University of Connecticut officials tried to move the game to Storrs, Conn, but the University of Connecticut could not arrange necessary security and support services on such short notice.
