Fullerton : Williamson Ave. Plan Up for Study Tonight

Share

Developers who build on Williamson Avenue will have to construct walls to alleviate noise from passing trains on tracks south of the area, while the city will pay for a new water line in a plan to be considered tonight by the City Council.

The council ordered a study regarding future development in the area, now occupied by one four-unit apartment house and some single-family homes, after changing its designation from commercial-industrial to medium density residential last June. If approved tonight, the city will agree to build the water line within two years at a cost of about $24,000, Associate Planner Larry Henderson said.

The owners of existing developments wouldn’t be required to build walls to reduce the railroad noise, he said.
