Sindelar Shoots 63 and Leads by a Stroke

COLUMBUS, Ga. —
Joey Sindelar had seven birdies and one bogey Thursday en route to a seven-under-par 63 that gave him the first-round lead in the $350,000 Southern Open golf tournament at Green Island Country Club.
Sindelar was one shot in front of Clarence Rose, Tim Simpson and Billy Pierot.
