Scott, McGee, Worthy Lead Lakers’ Win

TUCSON — Byron Scott and Mike McGee scored 24 points apiece, and James Worthy added 23 as the Lakers scored a 144-136 exhibition victory over the Phoenix Suns Friday night.
Worthy had 19 points by halftime as the Lakers built a 78-67 lead.
Phoenix, behind the hot shooting of Bernard Thompson, closed the gap to 118-113 with six minutes remaining but could get no closer.
Thompson paced the Suns with 23 points; Rick Robey added 20, while Bulgarian rookie Georgi Glouchkov had 18.
The game was played before a crowd of 11,116 at McKale Center.
