Giants’ Oakland Coliseum Bid Rejected
The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Board voted unanimously Wednesday to block an attempt by the San Francisco Giants to move to the Oakland stadium for the next three years while a proposed downtown San Francisco stadium is being built.
Owner Bob Lurie of the Giants had sought permission to temporarily move his National League baseball team and share the stadium with the American League’s Oakland A’s.
The board’s rejection meant that the proposal was probably dead.
