The California State Bar Assn. has recommended that the state Supreme Court disbar two Los Angeles attorneys for mishandling client funds.
The Bar urged disbarment of Robert J. Glines, 66, and Jerry Malkan, 55. Glines misappropriated client funds, failed to comply with a court order and failed to communicate with his client or the client’s new attorney on numerous occasions, according to a Bar statement.
Malkan failed to promptly pay a $6,000 insurance settlement to one client, then misappropriated the money, the statement said. In a second case, Malkan failed to perform services for which he was paid, according to the Bar.
