16 Hurt When RTD Bus, Truck Collide
A Southern California Rapid Transit District bus carrying 62 people collided with a truck at a busy downtown intersection Wednesday, injuring 16 people, none seriously.
RTD spokeswoman Usha Viswanathan said the bus was moving north on Vermont Avenue near 9th Street when a southbound truck swerved to avoid a stopped vehicle and smashed into the side of the bus.
Eight people were taken to hospitals, including one passenger with a broken arm.
