Chris McCarron, leading rider at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting, was given a five-day suspension for careless riding in the fourth race at Santa Anita Monday, track stewards announced. The suspension starts this Saturday and runs through Friday, Oct. 25. However, McCarron will be able to ride Yashgan in the $400,000 Oak Tree Invitational Sunday because it is a race designated for exclusion from such rulings in California.
