Orange : Three Will Be Honored by Chapman College
Chapman College will honor three Orange County residents as “distinguished Americans” at the college’s annual American Celebration at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel on Nov. 2.
This year’s honorees are rancher-businessman Francis Griset, developer and AirCal Chairman William Lyon, and Warren Hancock, developer of a valve widely used in heart surgery.
George Argyros, chairman of the college’s board of trustees, said the three 1985 honorees are “visionaries . . . who have made a tremendous impact on the way we harvest our fields, build our homes and even repair human hearts.”
College officials expect 1,100 business and community leaders to be on hand for the event. An original musical production, “Discover the Future,” will be presented as part of the entertainment.
