NEW ORLEANS — Singer Peggy Lee, who underwent open heart surgery two weeks ago, was operated on again because an infection developed within the incision, officials at Touro Infirmary said today.
Sue Stewart, a hospital spokeswoman, said surgery was performed Tuesday to drain the incision. She said Lee, 65, was back in her room today and was in satisfactory condition. She called the infection a definite setback that probably would delay the singer’s release from the hospital for another two weeks.
