Peggy Lee Undergoes Second Surgery

Singer Peggy Lee, who underwent open heart surgery two weeks ago, was operated on again because an infection developed within the incision, officials at Touro Infirmary said today.

Sue Stewart, a hospital spokeswoman, said surgery was performed Tuesday to drain the incision. She said Lee, 65, was back in her room today and was in satisfactory condition. She called the infection a definite setback that probably would delay the singer’s release from the hospital for another two weeks.
