Slain Man Found by Road Identified

A 30-year-old man found shot to death along a road in the Newhall area was identified Friday as Angel Martines, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.
Martines’ body was found Thursday morning on Sierra Highway about three-fourths of a mile south of San Fernando Road, authorities said. He had been shot several times. It is still not known where Martines lived. No suspects are in custody, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said.
