A gunman robbed a Seal Beach Winchell’s doughnut shop of $175, then fled after striking the clerk, police said. The thief entered through a side door, brandishing a 6-inch, blue-steel revolver, then, after taking the cash, forced the clerk to the back room, according to Sgt. Larry Sides. When the gunman discovered there was no more cash, he became angry and struck the clerk, Sides said. The gunman was described as in his middle to late 20s, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, medium build, medium-length dark-brown hair and a mustache.
