Youth Dies of Injuries: A Westminster teen-ager died Saturday of head injuries sustained nearly three weeks ago in a Huntington Beach traffic collision, authorities said. Christine K. Stroud, 19, was injured Oct. 14 while riding a motor scooter on Springdale Street when she failed to stop at a Slater Avenue stop sign, said Huntington Beach Traffic Officer Robert Barr. She collided with a car in the intersection and was thrown several feet, he said. The car’s driver was not cited. Stroud was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital trauma center and was later transferred to Kaiser Foundation Hospital-Anaheim, where she died, said Deputy Coroner Rick Plows.
