Jockey Darrel McHargue, injured in a spill Friday at Santa Anita, suffered a fractured vertebra and will be sidelined for several weeks.
McHargue’s wife, Robin, said Tuesday that he had also sprained muscles along the spinal cord and a minor concussion. McHargue, 31, was unseated when Certainly Super clipped heels with Layout on the backstretch of the seventh race.
