IT IS CRICKET
According to Sylvie Drake, “Harold Pinter is a passionate fan of cricket--that slow-paced sister sport involving a ball and a bat that the English call a wicket” (“Acting Is Just Like ‘Old Times’ for Pinter,” Oct. 29).
Sylvie has involved herself in a sticky wicket! The wicket consists of three sticks topped by a bail, forming the target of the bowler and is defended by a player armed with a bat.
That’s the limit of my understanding of the game despite all the explanations I have heard of the game.
