Truck Driver Seriously Injured in Collision With RTD Bus
One man was seriously hurt and two others suffered minor injuries when a pickup truck slammed into the back of an RTD bus in Van Nuys early Saturday, Los Angeles police said.
John Pemberton, 31, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills after his truck, westbound on Roscoe Boulevard at about 40 m.p.h., struck the bus being driven by Ronald Selvick, 52, of Tujunga, Officer Dennis Smith said.
The 6:25 a.m. crash forced the bus into the back of another truck, driven by Wayne Murray, 33, of Altadena.
Pemberton was in serious condition with internal injuries, Smith said. Selvick and Murray were treated at Panorama Community Hospital, he said. There were no passengers on the bus.
Smith said an investigation of the crash is continuing.
