X-Rays Show Injury to Magic Johnson’s Finger Is Just a Sprain
Magic Johnson’s left index finger is only sprained and not broken, X-rays showed Saturday.
Johnson injured his finger in the second half of Friday night’s 128-99 Laker victory over Denver at the Forum when he tried to make a steal, and X-rays were taken as a precautionary measure.
Johnson has a recent history of index finger problems. He missed 15 games in the 1983-84 season when he dislocated his right index finger, and last season, Johnson was forced out of two games because he sprained the same finger.
The next Laker game is Tuesday night at the Forum against Utah, which should give Johnson’s finger some time to heal.
