Ranch Worker, 42, Is Found Slain

A 42-year-old ranch laborer who had been shot in the head and chest was found dead in an orange grove in Pauma Valley late Saturday, the county Sheriff’s Department said.

Fellow ranch workers found the body of Gonzalo Magdaleno Magdaleno in the Villa Park Groves at about 6:30 p.m., deputies said. They said they have not established a motive for the shooting and are investigating.

Magdaleno was employed by Lyall Enterprises of Pauma Valley, a deputy coroner said.
