Two people were arrested by sheriff’s deputies in Temple City after an 80-mile chase of an allegedly stolen car that reached speeds in excess of 100 m.p.h. The pursuit started in Palmdale when a deputy spotted a car believed to be stolen and gave chase. The driver got on the Antelope Valley Freeway with sheriff’s deputies and units of the California Highway Patrol chasing the pair. A police helicopter flew overhead while units from the Los Angeles Police Department joined the chase on the Golden State and San Bernardino freeways. The sheriff’s deputies continued chasing the two until the car spun out of control at Garvey Street and Delta Avenue. One person in the fleeing car was injured and taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. The other person was arrested. Neither was immediately identified.
