Powder Disrupts Freeway: A busted bag of white powder caused quite a stir on the San Diego Freeway in Seal Beach during rush hour Wednesday afternoon, but a hazardous materials team determined the substance was harmless lime and washed it away, the California Highway Patrol reported. The 100-pound bag apparently fell on the freeway’s transition road to the San Gabriel Freeway about 3 p.m., a dispatcher said. The transition road was closed off and northbound traffic on the San Diego Freeway was re-routed for two hours.
