Sunkist Meet to Be Held on Jan. 17
The 27th annual Sunkist Invitational indoor track meet, the second oldest Invitational board-track competition in the nation, will be held Friday night, Jan. 17, 1986, at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.
The meet will bring together many of America’s foremost track stars, along with a number of standouts from overseas.
The Sunkist Invitational is the first major action of the indoor season. As such, it is positioned where most of the athletes are eager to jump into action to prove their fitness for the 1986 season.
Bids have been sent overseas to leading athletes from Czechoslovakia, Russia, West Germany, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Japan and Sweden.
The 1985 outdoor year turned out to be perhaps the biggest record spree over in a single season. Chairman Al Franken is optimistic the string will continue into the indoor campaign, starting at the Sunkist.
