Former Vanderbilt strength coach E.J. (Doc) Kreis pleaded guilty in Nashville, Tenn., to illegally distributing steroids to a Clemson coach.
The misdemeanor counts could bring a maximum sentence of 11 months and 29 days.
Kreis’ co-defendant, one-time pharmacist Melvin (Woody) Wilson, pleaded guilty to one count of distributing and another of conspiracy in the same case. Both men are tentatively scheduled to be sentenced next week.
The investigation began over a year ago with the death of Clemson University track star Augustinius Jaspers. An autopsy on the athlete showed traces of a prescription drug in his system.
