Defensive end Mike Bell of the Kansas City Chiefs was arrested on a federal narcotics charge and escorted from Arrowhead Stadium by U.S. marshals today.

U.S. Atty. Benjamin Burgess said Bell, 28, is one of 31 people indicted by a federal grand jury in Wichita today in connection with a yearlong cocaine trafficking investigation. Burgess said Bell was charged with the use of a communication facility in cocaine distribution and an attempt to possess cocaine. Bell, who played college football at Colorado State, was the second player chosen in the 1979 draft.
