FORD FUND DONATES TO ARTS CENTER
The Ford Motor Company Fund has donated $100,000 to the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s construction campaign.
The contribution was announced by Louis Heilig, a Ford Aerospace Defense Group vice president in Newport Beach, and Henry Segerstrom, Center fund-raising chairman.
More than $51 million has been raised for the construction of the multi-facility Center in Costa Mesa, according to Segerstrom. The complex is set to open next October.
The cost of the opening phase--which includes a 3,000-seat theater--is $70.7 million. A 1,000-seat second theater to be built in the late 1980s is estimated to cost $8.2 million.
The Center has also announced raising $39 million for an operating endowment fund. The original endowment target had been $20 million.
