Woody Hayes, making his first public appearance since being released from the hospital last month after treatment for a heart condition, gave the Ohio State football team a pep talk from his wheelchair on the eve of today’s game with Michigan.

“I want you to have a great game,” said Hayes, 72, wearing his trademark block-O baseball cap. “Everything you do has got to be perfect. You can be the proudest team when you come back from that game.”
