Anaheim : Council OKs Orange’s Plan for Annexation

Share

The City Council has approved a plan by the Orange City Council to annex 130 acres of county land that is adjacent to both cities. The annexation would be under restrictions that would allow Anaheim to annex about five acres of the unincorporated land and require Orange to place density restrictions on the area.

The annexation was contingent on the Anaheim council approving the plan, according to a letter from Orange Mayor James Beam to Anaheim Mayor Don Roth.

The plan calls for Orange to incorporate the area west of the intersection of Serrano Avenue and Nohl Ranch Road from the Anaheim Hills Development Co.

The motion passed by the council requires the density of the area to remain compatible with Anaheim’s and that the intersection of Serrano and Nohl, including the northwest corner, be annexed by Anaheim.

Staff recommendation adopted by the council last week call for density on that land to be limited to 8 1/2 dwelling units per residential acre while density for the 65-acre area next to Anaheim would not exceed six units per acre.

Anaheim wants to annex the northwest corner of Serrano and Nohl as a possible site for a fire station, the report indicated.
