Westminster : Cause of Fire at Bar Under Investigation
Fire officials Saturday were investigating the cause of a blaze that gutted the inside of a bar in the early morning and threatened neighboring businesses.
Units from the Westminster, Huntington Beach and Orange County fire departments were sent to the Lucky John’s Too bar at 15549 Beach Blvd. about 4 a.m. and found the interior engulfed in flames, fire Battalion Chief Don Herr said. The remainder of the structure was not destroyed, he said, but total damage to the bar was estimated at about $50,000.
“There would have been a considerable amount of damage if the fire had swept into the attic space and it probably would have gone to the other buildings,” Herr said.
The bar was closed at the time. It took firefighters 25 minutes to control the fire. No injuries were reported.
