A man dubbed the “Phantom Rapist” for attacks in Colorado two decades ago and released this year from prison with time off for good behavior has been jailed in San Bernardino County on two counts of rape. Francis John LaBlanc, 42, was being held in lieu of $150,000 bond, police said. He was also charged with two counts of burglary and one count of robbery. Police said the assailant in San Bernardino sneaked into homes and wore a hood, just as the Phantom Rapist did in Denver 20 years ago. LaBlanc, suspected in at least 14 Denver-area rapes, was convicted of two in 1965.
