Tights Wins Feature at Hollywood Park in a Tight Finish

Favored Tights, after battling for the lead from the start, prevailed in a three-horse driving finish Thursday and scored a narrow victory in the $42,000 feature race at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Laffit Pincay, Tights defeated French Legionaire by a head, with the fast-closing Bold Run third, a nose farther back.

Tights was clocked in 1:43 4/5 for 1 1/16 miles over a firm turf course. Sent off the 7-5 choice, Tights paid $4.80, $4.60 and $3.20.

French Legionaire, ridden by Rafael Meza, returned $6.40 and $4.40, and Bold Run, with Patrick Valenzuela, paid $4 to show.
