Son Held After Woman, 62, Attacked
A man was in County Jail Monday after he allegedly stabbed and severely beat his 62-year-old mother in their Norco home, a Riverside County sheriff’s spokesman said.
Samuel S. Caterisano, 31, was booked Sunday into Riverside County Jail on a charge of attempted murder with great bodily injury, said Deputy Carl Allen. Caterisano was held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
His mother, Esther Glass, was listed in guarded condition at Corona Community Hospital. She had been “assaulted repeatedly over several hours” with hands, feet, furniture objects and a knife, Allen said.
Deputies have uncovered no motive for the attack, he said, but are continuing to investigate.
