United Teachers of Pasadena hopes to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers of Robert Jones, a John Muir High School teacher, and Ronald McClendon, 17, a student who was staying with Jones. The two were found dead of gunshot wounds last week in Jones’ Pasadena home. The teachers’ union is seeking donations for the reward and for a scholarship fund, which has been named the Bob Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund. Saul Glickman, union director, said contributions may be sent to the Bob Jones Reward/Scholarship Fund, 1350 N. Altadena Drive., Suite E, Pasadena 91107. A memorial service for Jones will be held at 4 p.m. today in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pasadena. Services for McClendon will be at noon Saturday in Mountain View Chapel, Altadena.
