West Hollywood : Ma Maison Hearing Postponed
A hearing on West Hollywood’s suit to block construction of the proposed Ma Maison hotel and restaurant has been postponed to allow attorneys for the city of Los Angeles more time to prepare their response.
Although the site is in Los Angeles, attorneys for West Hollywood hope to prove that the process under which the land was annexed was faulty.
If they succeed in reopening that issue, they hope to raise questions regarding traffic, noise and shadows that might be caused by construction of the proposed 11-story complex.
Attorneys for the developer have said that these problems will not develop, that the suggestion of improper annexation is unfounded and that existing zoning would permit construction of even a bigger building than the one being considered.
The hearing is now scheduled for Jan. 14.
