Sey Leads San Francisco State Over Chapman College, 76-66

Derrick Sey, a 6-foot 7-inch forward, scored 23 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and blocked 5 shots Saturday night to lead San Francisco State to a 76-66 victory over Chapman College in a nonconference game played in the Gators' gym at San Francisco.

Larry Wickett, a 6-5 forward, added 20 points for the Gators, who improved to 5-7. The Panthers, who defeated Sacramento State, 75-67, Friday night, fell to 4-7.

Jon Samuelson led Chapman with 17 points and guards Jim Saia and Mike Kelly each added 10 points. The Panthers won't play again until Jan. 4, when they travel to San Diego to play Point Loma.

CHAPMAN (66)--Saia 10, Kelly 10, Lockwood 4, Bragg 10, Rollins 4, Samuelson 17, Huston 5.

SAN FRANCISCO STATE (76)--Anderson 2, Ortiz 7, Overland 4, Shelton 4, Larry Wickett 20, Roberts 4, Hickey 12, Derrick Sey 23.

Halftime--San Francisco, 42-32.
