GARY COLEMAN IN GOOD CONDITION
Gary Coleman, the young star of the television series “Diff’rent Strokes,” was reported to be in good condition Monday after being fitted with a dialysis pack to support his second transplanted kidney, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Coleman, 17, underwent the second transplant operation a year ago, after receiving his first transplanted kidney in 1974, according to his press agent, Larry Goldman.
Coleman, who plays Arnold in the ABC series, will carry the small pack under his clothing. It is attached by a tube to his kidney and helps purify his system.
The operation during which the pack was fitted lasted an hour. Coleman is expected to leave the UCLA Medical Center in time to spend the Christmas holiday at his home, Goldman said.
Coleman also is expected to be back at work when “Diff’rent Stokes” resumes production on Jan. 15.
