Without Walker, Brea Beaten by Wilson

Brea-Olinda High School, playing without 6-foot 10-inch center Kevin Walker, lost to Hacienda Heights Wilson, 50-32, Monday night in the championship game of the Glendora Tournament at Glendora High School.

Brea (6-3) couldn’t overcome Wilson’s size. Walker sprained his right ankle against Lynwood in the semifinals and did not play. The game was supposed to feature a matchup between Walker and 6-10 Scott Williams. Williams scored 12 for Wilson (8-1).

BREA-OLINDA (32)--Francis 6, Anderson 2, Thomas 2, Chiotti 2, Dossey 4, Johnson 5, Hartshorne 4, Tousey 7.

In nonleague action:

Gahr 64, Sunny Hills 41--The Gladiators were led by senior guard Eric Powers, who scored 14 points and helped his team control the pace throughout the game at Gahr. Forward Harry Butler added 11 points.

Although 13 players scored for Sunny Hills, none of them managed to reach double figures.

Sunny Hills (2-5) meets Woodbridge in the Brea-Olinda Tournament Friday. Gahr (7-2) will play in the Covina Tournament.
