A $10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of a suspected illegal alien who allegedly shot a U.S. Border Patrol agent has been offered by immigration officials. Agent William Beaumet was seriously wounded in the legs Dec. 22 while chasing a suspected illegal alien in the city of Vista in North San Diego County. He remains hospitalized. Capt. Bill Baxter of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as David Lopez, 27, a Vista gardener.
