Brea : City Council to Review Plans for Downtown

Share

A plan to control development in the city’s downtown area--also known as Good Old Brea--will be reviewed at a special meeting of the City Council on Friday.

Two firms have been working on the plan since the council first called for development guidelines in the area in 1984, when plans to widen Brea Boulevard were introduced. The consultants will bring the council and the public up to date on the plans for the area, located between Imperial Highway and Lambert Road west of Randolph Avenue.

A freeze on downtown development has been in effect since Dec. 5 and will last until June, when a final plan is expected to be adopted, said city officials. A meeting with area merchants is scheduled in February.
